Over the years the number of alumni has grown to 250 members and continues to grow after each successful CPA English and Spanish classes which are held in the Spring and Fall. The CPAAA is believed to be the largest volunteer group of its kind in the State of Illinois and in the City of Aurora, Illinois. On June 26, 2024, at the 2nd Quarter Mayor’s address to the city on “State of Public Safety and Public Engagement in the City of Aurora.” Mayor Irvin awarded the CPAAA with the Mayor’s Award of Excellence for 30 years of bridging the gap between the Aurora Police Department and community volunteering serving countless hours. The CPAAA was also given a Proclamation outlining some of the accomplishments and the Mayor announced that members of the CPAAA will serve as Grand Marshalls for the City of Aurora Fourth of July parade. Congratulations CPAAA, a job well done!
